The mural is based on an illuminated manuscript, a treatise by Walter de Milemete called De Nobilitatibus Sapientiis et prudentiis Regum, written in 1326. The selected illumination is generally called "Defeninding Castle with Bow and Crossbow."

This is a picture of the original artwork, taken from The Medieval Woman - An Illuminated Book of Days, edited by Sally Fox (Little, Brown and Co. 185).

These are some progressive images of the mural on my livingroom wall. I have changed the background color for personal reasons (a large red background in the livingroom would be hard to live with), and moved some of the faces slightly in order to keep them from completely overlaying on the vent on the wall. (Please note, there are color discrepencies.)
